Patti Lefebvre is a full-time visual artist in Ottawa, Canada, where she maintains a studio at The Rectory Art House in the Byward Market. Lefebvre is a graduate of the Ottawa School of Art’s Diploma Program. Her work touches on various fields of interest, including popular culture, consumerism, and fashion. She approaches these themes through painting, printmaking, collage, and surface pattern design. A central focus of her work is merging surface textures, images, and mediums. Much of her painting practice is influenced by Abstract Expressionism, which includes various paint applications, mark-making, and the impression of spontaneity. Printmaking is equally important to Lefebvre, engaging in techniques ranging from linocut to monoprint. Evident in both her painting and printmaking methodologies is a strong interplay of colour, shape and pattern. Lefebvre’s work has been included in numerous group exhibitions. Her pieces have been exhibited with the Ottawa Gatineau Printmakers Connective and are held in private collections.
